A Growing Number of ADA Accessible Accommodations in Provincetown

A Growing Number of ADA Accessible Accommodations in Provincetown

Provincetown became incorporated as a township in June 1727 and has maintained much of its original charm, primarily due to the community’s commitment to preserve and protect the many historic buildings that remain. However, as the town expands and develops, the Provincetown of today is adapting where needed to become even more accessible for our ADA residents and visitors alike. In fact, the Town organized a Disability Commission in 1972 with a mission to research local issues that create barriers for people with disabilities as well as advise on ADA-friendly businesses, local activities, and services.

The Provincetown Business Guild (PBG) plans to create a dedicated ADA accessible viewing area for the 2026 Carnival Parade. “We recognize the importance of greater accessibility in town,” shares Carmen da Silva, Associate Director of the PBG, “and we’re excited about the growing number of ADA-accessible hotels ready and waiting to welcome all visitors to Provincetown.”
