$How does belonging shape a community’s spirit and strength? Jay Biethan (@jbiethan) and PBG’s partnership began with our rebrand in 2022, and that central question continues to shape his work with the organization. The initial identity took shape with an idea to capture the people, places, and pursuits that make Provincetown unique. The distinctive “P” letterform logo was designed to adapt and morph to reflect the community it represents. Today, our partnership has grown to encompass Jay’s role as a fractional brand lead, creative director, strategist, and designer. Most recently, Jay’s work has expanded upon that foundation, developing creative systems across this summer’s Ptown Pride, Bear Week, and Carnival, including creative direction in collaboration with artist Benwa (@benwazical). Jay’s work with the PBG has also included naming and strategy for the Welltown campaign and leading the Brand Catalyst workshop, helping build a more cohesive and flexible brand across the organization. An avid swimmer, Jay recently competed at the Gay Games in Valencia, Spain, and splits his time between the Castro in San Francisco with his husband Brian and golden doodle Clancy, and Pearl St. here in Provincetown.
