This Summer, Take a LGBTQ+ History Trolley Tour of Provincetown

Have you ever wondered how Provincetown evolved into the queer-friendly enclave it is today? Do you know where the first gay bar in town was? Ever been curious about where icons like Grace Jones, Divine and Tennessee Williams spent their time here in town? The Provincetown Business Guild invites you to set ‘sail’ aboard the Mayflower (Trolley) and enjoy an hour-long journey through Ptown’s queer history as led by Anne Hutchinson – historic outcast, gender renovator and stand-up artist. That’s right – not only will you learn a fact or two – you’ll also be entertained while doing so!

At 3:30pm on select days throughout Summer 2022 you can hop on board a trolley and get your gay history straight as Anne narrates a humor-filled tour throughout Provincetown’s LGBTQ+ past, informed by contributions from Stephen Desroches of Provincetown Magazine and David Dunlap, a reporter with The New York Times and author of Building Provincetown: A Guide to its Social and Cultural History Told Through Its Architecture.

Summer Schedule:

  • June: Every Friday, Saturday & Sunday
  • July: Every Sunday, Monday, Thursday & Friday
  • August: Every Sunday, Monday, Thursday & Friday (No tours during Carnival Week)
