Provincetown is one of the most pet-friendly towns in the US. In fact, when walking down Commercial Street, it is quite common to overhear someone wish they’d “come back in a second life as a dog in Ptown!” It’s no secret that the lap of luxury our four-legged friends enjoy in Provincetown is quite plush. Ptown is also a great place to explore with your furry companion, so why not bring your pup with you and book a stay in one of these pet-friendly hotels?

Overlooking the Breakwater, AWOL offers several pet-friendly rooms and beach access directly across the street. Pet fee of $50 per night, per pet. Two dogs maximum permitted per room.

Brass Key Guesthouse

Provincetown’s centrally-located Brass Key Guesthouse offers 16 pet-friendly rooms that welcome both dogs AND cats. They also offer pet treat bags to their four-legged guests upon arrival. Please note there is an additional fee of $40 per night, per pet. Two dogs and/or cats permitted per room.

The Brasswood Inn boasts six dog-friendly rooms and six pet-free rooms (for guests with allergies). Their Cottage and Annex on Winthrop are also dog-friendly. Upon arrival, you and your furry friend will be welcomed with a “BrassWOOF” dog pack including complimentary treats, poo bags, and a dog towel to use should your four-legged friend go for a swim in the nearby bay. Leashed dogs are welcome in all common areas (inside & outside) – even on the furniture! – and the hotel offers extra water and food dishes should you forget to pack them along. Please note there is an additional fee of $10 per night, per pet. Two dogs permitted per room.

The Coastal Acres Campground welcomes both guests and up to two, four legged campers per site. For the safety of other pets and campers, all pets must be on leash at all times, and cannot be left unattended in a camper or at the campsite.

Harbor Hotel

Provincetown is a dog lover’s DREAM, and the Harbor Hotel loves kids, including the four-legged kind! Your bestie will enjoy the pet-friendly beach access directly across the street from the hotel, as well as the shaded Old Colony Trail located just behind the hotel. Pilgrim House

Canine accommodations at Pilgrim House are reserved for members of our Preferred Pilgrim Program. Membership is free! Pilgrim House accommodates dogs up to 35 pounds. Pets are allowed in designated rooms, with a limit of one dog per room. Dog fee of $100/night. With a location right by the breakwater, the marshes, and the bay, this is a popular place even for locals to walk their dogs every morning, plus we hear future pet amenities include a Stick Library (how cute)! Please note there is an additional fee of $40 per night, per pet.

Salt House Inn

Domestic pets are always welcome in the guest rooms at Salt House Inn. A portion of the fee is donated to the local CASAS Animal Shelter. No more than two domestic pets are allowed per guest room. See the Inn’s policies page for complete pet rules. They require a $100 non refundable pet fee per pet, per stay. (This excludes service pets with appropriate documentation.)

Surfside Hotel & Suites

Bring your pet along when you escape to Surfside’s oceanfront haven, and they’ll be warmly greeted with doggie treats upon check-in! A bounty of scenic parks and a private dog-friendly beach are all located within walking distance, which your furry BFF will love to explore. You will also find an outdoor doggie shower and water bowl on the property, and there are plenty of nearby dining spots that gladly welcome the pooches as well. You may also leave your furry friend in the room unattended at Surfside Hotel & Suites. Please note there is an additional fee of $43 per night, per pet.

Important Park, Beach & Local Vet Information

 

When visiting Provincetown, your dog is welcome to frolic off-leash on the Town Harbor Beach from 6am to 9am and 6pm to 9pm from Memorial Day to November 1 and at any time from November 2 to Memorial Day. The National Seashore beaches, such as Herring Cove and Race Point, require your dog to be leashed at all times. Provincetown also boasts a dog park, the Pilgrim Bark Park, which is located at the intersection of Route 6 and Shank Painter Road. If needed, veterinary services are provided by the Veterinary Wellness Center Of Provincetown at 43 Race Point Road, 508-909-4800.

Pooch-Friendly Dining, Activities & Pet Shops

 

Many local businesses are very dog-friendly, including several local sailing excursions on the Cutter Bloodhound, the Dolphin Fleet Whale Watch and Hindu Sailing Charters as well as all Mayflower Trolley Tours. And while Massachusetts and Provincetown law only allow outside dining with your dog, most venues in town with outdoor dining allow you to bring your pups along.
