As both a school and community center, 46 Bradford Street has been a Provincetown asset for over a century. The Provincetown Commons will continue that tradition by creating a year-round working space for creative individuals and start-up businesses, and by maintaining 46 Bradford Street as a space for education and community gatherings.
The new intergenerational space, including established Provincetown artists and welcoming of the next generation, is critical to the town’s effort to both preserve and grow the arts as a vital part of our economy and as a facet of our tourism. And building a technological hub for media arts will enable new types of creative innovation to take root here.
The new space will operate with a membership model and is anticipated to include studios, a flexible classroom space, an exhibition space, shared desks, high-speed internet, meeting space, and digital media production facilities.
We are committed to developing educational programs and providing civic space for public programs that anchor 46 Bradford Street to its historic uses.
