Calling All Artists: Submissions Now Open for Cover Art for the 2022 Big Queer Summer Guide
Provincetown has been a community that has celebrated the arts in its many forms for generations. For 2022, the Provincetown Business Guild – a non-profit organization that is dedicated to promoting Provincetown, MA as the World’s Premier LGBTQ+ Travel Destination – is seeking artist submissions for the covers of their Pride, Carnival and Fall/Winter Guides.
Submission Details
A call for artist submissions is currently open for concept sketches for the cover of the PBG’s LGBTQ+ guide for Summer and the theme is “Big Queer Summer 2022”. Calls for subsequent editions of the guide will be made soon – but now is a good time to start thinking about future entries!
This is not a contest: The PBG leadership is seeking concept sketches only. Artists may complete as much of the work as they feel appropriate for consideration.
The artist selected for the cover of the “Big Queer Summer 2022” guide will receive:
- Honorarium of $500
- Spotlight (½ page ad size) in the guide featuring the artist’s biography
- Exposure to thousands of visitors on of the cover of the guide and on our website
Concept sketches must be submitted using the form below by March 9, 2022 11:59pm EST.
The PBG will select one design by Monday, March 14, 2022 and will then hire the selected artist to complete the work. The complete, print ready work is due by April 1, 2022.
Design Requirements
To be considered, works must be easily scaled to fit 8.5 inches x 5.5 inches, vertical orientation, which is the printed dimensions for the guide cover.
Acceptable formats include:
- Vector
- JPEG
Concepts submitted must visualize the concept of Big Queer Summer – understanding that this guide serves as the PBG’s Resource Guide for LGBTQ+ Provincetown for visitors, concepts should be visually appealing and capture the diversity of our community.
The PBG reserves the right to request revisions to the final design. If hired for the cover design, artist must complete and sign a release for the use of the artwork in printing and promoting the guide.
