We need your help to make Provincetown's 6th Annual Pride a fabulous experience for the Full Spectrum of our visiting LGBTQ+ community! Support the PBG's efforts by volunteering for the Town Hall Queer Comedy Showcase, Pride Rally on the Town Hall Steps, Feet Over Front Street 5k, and more fun events! All volunteers will receive tickets to the Town Hall show and complimentary entry into one other Pride event.

The PBG would like to share our condolences for the friends, family and community of John Burrows, the founder and organizer of Provincetown Bears & Provincetown Bear Week, who unexpectedly passed away yesterday.

Provincetown Bear Week was started by John and the men of Provincetown Bears nearly 25 years ago. Within a very short period of time it has grown into one of the largest weeks in the town’s summer event schedule, and the largest gathering of bears in the world. The Provincetown community and the bear community owe John a great debt of gratitude for building a space and culture that has brought so many visitors joy and acceptance, and helped to define bear culture 🖤🧡🤎

Provincetown plans to ‘gay it forward’ and help maintain the culture John built along with the many other friends and creators surrounding Bear Week.

Here’s a photo shared by John’s loved ones early-on in Bear Weeks growth in 2001.

Major congratulations to new @gifford_house owner Steve Azar @stevazar for cracking doors to the public for the first time during yesterday’s soft opening for Porch Bar. (Walking into the space felt like seeing a favorite Townie you’ve missed all winter long - in a sexy new pair of jeans.) We’re grateful for all the work going into one of Provincetown’s most historic spaces, and would also like to express our gratitude for the stewardship of Jim Foss who owned and ran the property for nearly 30 years, and was also a longtime supporter of the PBG 🙏

Thankfully, we have a lot to look forward to in the ways of the continued gay-entertainment tradition Gifford is known for with another local, LGBTQ+ owner…

🌸 Porch Bar is now open NIGHTLY starting tomorrow (Friday!) at 5PM
😈 The club formerly known as Purgatory will be shortly resurrected!!

The friendly faces of The Key West Business Guild @gaykeywestfl have wildly similar stories to tell about their origins, goals and future efforts in today’s cultural climate…

Our Guilds were not only formed in the exact same year, but for the same need for better representation in our respective communities - to elevate, promote and protect the LGBTQ+ community and our business members through tourism. While our high seasons may be almost inverse on the calendar, we both work similarly to represent as best as possible across the full spectrum of our communities, struggle with housing shortages for our locals and businesses, the loss of dedicated Women’s spaces, and share a fear of making sure our homes remain celebratory bastions for LGBTQ+ community. How do you think we can better work with our sister cities like Key West?
