Join us this Friday at the Provincetown Pride Center (115 Bradford St) for the opening of our The New Ptown Resistance art exhibit, curated by Adam Golub (@unmanicured1 ). The exhibit will be open throughout the month of June.

THE NEW PTOWN RESISTANCE:
It is a common queer story: leaving behind what is familiar in search of one’s own path, finding safety with other outsiders in places far from home.

For over a century Provincetown has been a safe harbor for people on the margins. Bohemes, queers, artists, Portuguese fishers, all came to this little spit of sand at the far end of America to be themselves without fear of judgement or danger from the society at large.

Today, when so many things feel uncertain in the world, and the enclaves we’ve built for ourselves feel touched by instability, we ask the question: What role has Ptown played in creating resistances and alternative ways of thinking and being? What do we bring home from our safe harbors? How has this place touched your life?

This exhibit looks at various home-grown Ptown forms of radical expression both past and present and asks us all to consider how we may claim agency in our own lives, looking at Provincetown as a model.

We will not be silenced.
