LaChanze, Tony Award winner for her starring role in Alice Walker’s The Color Purple original musical staging, star of Once On This Island and Emmy Award winner for PBS Handel’s Messiah Rocks: A Joyful Noise! LaChanze won two more Tony Awards this June of 2023 as one of the producers for Kimberly Akimbo, which won Best Musical, and Topdog/Underdog, which won Best Revival of a Play!
