Join in the 20th Annual Lighting of the Lobster Pot Tree at Lopes Square!
Bring your friends and family this Saturday, November 30 at 5:30pm as we light up Lopes Square! Join the singing or just bring your CHEER! The Lobster Pot Christmas Tree is an Annual Holiday Tradition in Provincetown. Local lobstermen share their lobster traps for the 2 story tall, brightly decorated “Tree”. The Tree is built by the Popko family and wonderful volunteer friends in Honor of Julian Popko (1938-2017), who created the first Tree in 2003 with his family, and built it for the town every year. Our first “official” lighting was in 2004, it was small, with about 20 visitors who happened to be passing by. Now the entire Lopes Square is FULL of wonderful visitors spreading joy from near and far!
