EVENT DESCRIPTION

The 2023 Annual Lighting of the Pilgrim Monument will take place IN-PERSON this year on November 11th to commemorate the day in 1620 that the Mayflower Pilgrims made first landfall in the New World and dropped anchor in Provincetown Harbor. The lights go on at 6:00 p.m. so head on up to High Pole Hill at 5:30 p.m. You can enter the grounds via the inclined elevator on Bradford Street or use the ADA access road from our parking lot. For those planning to utilize the inclined elevator, please anticipate lengthy lines. AND, please note: It will not run after the Lighting. The Annual Lighting Ceremony is a community event, free to the public.

New this year, please join us before the Lighting at 4:15 p.m. for a fun-filled, ticketed event where you can mix and mingle with some local food and drink, as well as ensure you get the best spot on our lawn to view our beloved Provincetown tradition.

Tickets for the pre-lighting event can be purchased here.

If crowds still give you angst, we hope you will “get loud” at your own home. When it’s time, step outside, take a deep breath of rejuvenating sea air, and watch the sky light up while cheering on the Annual Lighting of the Pilgrim Monument. We want to hear you up on High Pole Hill!

Did you know that you can dedicate your Lighting Donation in someone’s honor? You can light it up for someone who has passed; or for your team after their hard work all year; as a holiday gift for someone who loves Provincetown but can’t be here this year; or just to show you care.
