Ferrick released Black Dress, their first single in eight years, via the venerable Kill Rock Stars Records. This release coincided with the 30th anniversary of Ferrick’s critically acclaimed major label debut, Massive Blur. Ferrick is regarded in the industry and by their peers as one of the most prolific, generous, and hardworking people in the business. After opening for Morrissey in the U.S. and UK, Ferrick signed with Atlantic Records at the age of 21 and released her debut and sophomore albums with them. She’s released seventeen albums over the last twenty-five years and has won numerous awards for songwriting, production, and performance, sharing the stage with countless acts, some of which include Morrissey, Joan Armatrading, Weezer, Tegan and Sara, Mark Cohen, Paul Westerberg, Bob Dylan, John Hiatt, Ani DiFranco, k.d. Lang, Suzanne Vega, Shawn Colvin, and many others. Additionally, Melissa is the named plaintiff of the class action lawsuit Ferrick v. Spotify for willful copyright infringement. Besides her work in the music industry, Ferrick is a Professor of the Practice at Northeastern University, and she holds an M.Ed. from Harvard University.

Betty Buckley Town Hall

Betty Buckley is best known for her Tony Award-winning role as Grizabella in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s seminal 1983 Broadway production of “Cats.” She was also beloved by millions of television audiences when she starred as Abby Bradford in more than 100 episodes of the hit 1977-81 series “Eight is Enough.” In addition to winning a Best Actress Tony for “Cats,” Buckley was nominated for another in 1997 for “Triumph of Love.” She was nominated for two Emmy Awards, two Grammy Awards, and an Olivier Award (as Norma Desmond in Webber’s “Sunset Boulevard”). Buckley has been in numerous iconic Broadway musicals including “1776,” “Pippin,” and “The Mystery of Edwin Drood”; she appeared in the film “Carrie” and in its infamous, short-lived Broadway musical adaptation. Buckley was a 2012 American Theater Hall of Fame inductee.

John McDaniel is a Grammy and Emmy Award-winning music director, composer, director, arranger, orchestrator and producer, and he serves as Artistic Director at the Tony Award-winning Eugene ONeill Theater Center. Most recently, he arranged, orchestrated and was Music Director for Carol Burnett’s 90th birthday special on NBC, which won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Primetime Variety Special.

Darren Criss Town Hall

The American actor, singer and songwriter Darren Criss rose to fame starring on the television series “Glee” from 2010 to 2015 and received Emmy and Golden Globe awards for his leading role as killer Andrew Cunanan in “The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story” (2018). Criss has appeared on Broadway several times including “How to Succeed in Business…” in 2012, “Hedwig and the Angry Inch” in 2015, and in the 2022 revival of David Mamet’s “American Buffalo.” He has worked in film, released several albums of original music and holiday favorites, and recently finished an Off-Broadway run starring as Seymour in “Little Shop of Horrors. Since bursting onto the pop-culture landscape over a decade ago, Darren Criss has embodied the kind of kaleidoscopic artistry that’s entirely uninhibited by form or genre. For this concert, Darren will be performing a playlist of songs featured throughout his wildly eclectic career as both a songwriter and performer.
