A Provincetown tradition since 1948 — the Blessing of the Fleet honors our fishing families and maritime roots. On Sunday, the boats were blessed and the community joined together for the annual tradition.

Huge thanks to @momentsailing & @chrisbartick for getting us out there!

We spotted @provincetownfastferry and @cityexperiences getting their blessings too — ferries are running daily, so book your Provincetown trip today.

The New Ptown Resistance Art Exhibit returns this weekend at the Pride Center (115 Bradford St), open Saturday and Sunday from 12–5PM, curated by @unmanicured1

and join us for the Closing Reception on Friday, June 27th from 4–7PM

THE NEW PTOWN RESISTANCE:
It is a common queer story: leaving behind what is familiar in search of one’s own path, finding safety with other outsiders in places far from home.

For over a century Provincetown has been a safe harbor for people on the margins. Bohemes, queers, artists, Portuguese fishers, all came to this little spit of sand at the far end of America to be themselves without fear of judgement or danger from the society at large.

Today, when so many things feel uncertain in the world, and the enclaves we’ve built for ourselves feel touched by instability, we ask the question: What role has Ptown played in creating resistances and alternative ways of thinking and being? What do we bring home from our safe harbors? How has this place touched your life?

This exhibit looks at various home-grown Ptown forms of radical expression both past and present and asks us all to consider how we may claim agency in our own lives, looking at Provincetown as a model.

We will not be silenced.

The Annual Juneteenth Cookout had a wonderful turnout on a sunny day in Provincetown. The community came together to enjoy powerful speeches, music, performances, delicious food, and plenty of shared joy. It was a celebration of togetherness and culture.
